Gus Brown graduated with a first-class degree in English literature from the University of Edinburgh. Subsequently, he obtained a distinction in a master’s degree in nineteenth-century English literature at the University of Oxford, writing a dissertation on harmony in the novels of Charles Dickens. He is very happy to have found himself working in Holborn, a few minutes walk from Chancery Lane. In between these bouts of study, Gus worked as a manual labourer, farmhand and, briefly, as a fishmonger.
Gus enjoys reading across genres and moves happily between narrative nonfiction, biography and contemporary prose fiction.
